We've wallowed in our loss to Pitt like a Pig in Mud for more than a week now. We've also learned of more devastating losses in the real world.. Lyn lost her husband of many decades.. Now that's REALLY a reson to grieve and my heart still goes out to her and her family.
The point is. We love Mountaineer football and even if we are NOT going to New Orleans this year, we still have lots to be proud of. We have the same record as last year, and instead of going to the Gator Bowl or WORSE We are going to The Fiesta Bowl against a VERY credible opponent. WVU IS the Big East Champion and that is something WVU did NOT accomplish last year, and even if it SUCKS that we could have made the NC game if we could have taken care of business, we Still have a LOT to be excited and proud about as fans. I don't look at this as a back sliding year. I look at it as progress for the best up and coming program NCAA football has to offer!
NOW, that all being said.. WVU has a battle coming up in a few short weeks against powerhouse Oklahoma and I think the team needs our unwavering support. I think us fans need each other now too in unwavering support. Let's get over this funk and depression. WVU needs you to help get past that Fiesta Bowl Jinx.. Wer all just have to believe and support our team 100% We can do this and it will be yet one more hurdle in building our WVU program but also helping the Big East establish themselves.
My signature is, "The future's so bright, ya gotta wear shades." That was my mantra before even the South Florida loss, and it is STILL my mantra after what happened at the hands of our most hated Rival, Pitt.
Even if we have had setbacks.. WVU is growing! Let's support that and let it Flourish!
