Holy Crap! February 2008 will go down in history as one of the busiest months in my life! I've really missed coming to the site and being an active poster and staying in touch with everyone, but I promise you guys I did my best to come on whenever I could.
The good news is that it's now behind me! In January I started my Graduate School Capstone course and my final presentation was on Tuesday. For the record, I did a knock-out job!!! I was really pleased with how it turned out. I've now achieved my Masters degree! Woohoo!
The main reason I went after my Masters was so that I could teach evening/weekend courses at the college level. Last week I threw my resume on CareerBuilder and Monster and I have an online interview with a college tomorow!! Hopefully it works out and I'll be teaching (probably online courses, but ohh well...it's a start) college classes in the next few months!
On top of finishing up grad school the company I'm working with here in Houston laid off an employee who turned around and filed a complaint with the Business Software Alliance (BSA) that they are using illegal copies of software licenses and we're being audited for compliance and it had to be complete by the 27th of Feb. I've been working about 10 hours each weekday on this audit, and have then been going home to work for several hours on my grad school stuff. On top of that, my other project work has been kicking my butt as three major deliverables are all due by the 29th of Feb.
Now that the rough part of February is behind me, I'm going to take some vacation time off work next week as my parents are making their first visit to Houston. They'll be staying with us for a week and I'm so excited!!! Also in the month of MarchI'm going to be adjusting my final grad school project (which required us to create our own business and develop the business plan justifying it's creation) into a real world business plan that I'll be presenting to my boss to see if he wants to back the idea and be my investor. I really believe in this business concept and I think it can be extremely successful! After it gets off the ground I'll tell you guys all about it. It's very exciting stuff and fairly revolutionary that will positively effect sports fans across the country.
Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to offer some explination for my long absence from the site, and also tell everyone about the exciting things going on in my life.
Last but not least, Shelly and I have started to talk about growing our family I couldn't be happier!!!
