West boys run first, girls second at Bobcat Classic Times West Virginian
BUCKHANNON— West Fairmont's cross country teams got off to a quick start in the season-opening Bobcat Classic on the West Virginia Wesleyan campus Saturday. Chris Neptune's young boys' team captured the team title in a close race that saw the top three squads separated by only five points. West finished with 79 followed by runner-up St. Albans with 80 and third-place Covenant, Va., with 84. Covenant's defending state champion Austin Ellis took the individual title in 16:33, which was 20 seconds faster than runner-up Alex Zurbuch of Elkins. Five Polar Bears finished in the top 23 as junior David Ciarolla led the way in third (17:08). Freshman Dayton McVicker was 17th (18:25) followed by sophomore Gannon Flowers in 19th (18:32), sophomore Patrick Stanton 21st (18:42) and freshman Joseph Vozniac 23rd (18:50). Also, freshman Lucas Hilsbos was 41st (20:07) and freshman Mike Garcia was 67th (21:33). In the girls' race, Charlie Snyder's Polar Bears (71) took second behind champion Grafton (49) as Elkins freshman Letitia Propst earned the individual title in 20:08. West sophomore Chelsea Clark 59 seconds behind Propst in second with a time of 21:07. Senior Elizabeth Hendrixson was fifth (21:29) followed by sophomore Georgette Ball in 19th (23:57), junior Alyssa Ruberto 26th (24:40), freshman Tori Hawkins 29th (25:05), sophomore Ashley Gwynn 33rd (26:08) and senior Averi Hansen 41st (26:52).

some what, but nothing like Dayton. I played softball until I was 42 but he is so good at every sport he plays, it's amazing to me. I'm his biggest fan.
