1. Offensive line - 3 1/2 stars. Give Marshall credit. They were prepared for our offense, but the O line redeemed itself in the 2nd half 2. Quarterback - 4 stars. I hold him to a very high standard. A couple of misreads, a couple of dropped passes. An average game for one of the best quarterbacks in the nation. 3. Running backs - 4 stars. Despite the 1st half, they did as much as they could do. 4. Special teams- 1/2 star. Biggest dropoff this week. Another miseed EP, another short punt, 75-yd return on the opening kickoff, 2 15-yd penalties on Charles Pugh, and terrible field position after kickoffs. 5. Pass defense - 2 1/2 stars. the defense was not that bad considering all the 3 and outs by the offense in the first half. Couple good passes defended, but this is still our achilles heel. 6. Pass rush - 1/2 star. Almost no pressure against a below-average O line. 7. Rush defense - 3 1/2 stars. Acceptable.

Nice assesment Smurph, except I think you were a little high on the rush defense. No way we should have given up 121 yards to Marshall. We gave up 2 or 3 plays of 20+ yards. Should have been more like 75 yards. Other than the long runs I think they were pretty solid.
