Today's discussin with Dan about Sweet Tea and Hardees etc brought to mind something fun and nostalgic for us old farts, that you young kids and locals could help with as we trip down memory lane.
I KNOW that Morgantown has evolved in the past 20 years since I lived there, but there are still some places that I can remember that made me smile a BUNCH when I was there. Just wonderin if they are still there..
I'll start, and I invite everyone else to jump in to ask or answer questions.
I KNOW The Boston Beanery is still there on High Street but.. Is Gibbies still there?

There's not a hot dog place on High Street but there is the hot dog man. He sells hot dogs late every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night. I've never heard of Kubla's but the Subway on High Street is still there.

Kublas was a bar off of one of one of the Side Streets on South High Street. I never got in there because my fake ID was soooo Bad..
But I do remember it well, as I was one of the original employees at the Subway on high st and we catered to the "bar's closing down, gotta feed the drunk people" crowd when I got stuck on the late shift.

Hahaha. It's not open that late now. We have the hot dog man, Jimmy John's, Cantoni's pizza, Casa pizza, Pita Pit, and R U Hungry? for late night drunk food.

Way back in the day, we had Dr Pizza, delivering twins..
2 Pepperoni Pizzas for 5 bucks.. It tasted like crap, unless you were toasted.

I've gone to Black Bear a couple of times in Downtown Morgantown and it was pretty nice in there. I like goin to Kegler's too, it's a great sports bar right off of Puskar Blvd.
Considering the real estate value of land, houses, etc. it is actually not too bad. I figured it would be enormously outrageous but it is in check when compared to the housing market of the Kanawha and Teays Valley as well as the Martinsburg area. I love this place and I am going to invest in some land when I finish my time here and plop a double wide on it, to help ease the battle against the housing market in either part of West Virginia.

When Big Jim and I were on our way in for the Ru game, I had planned to stop at Hill's and shop for some gear. Got there and Hill's was closed, but there was a nice new shopping center up on the hill.

No. Rax is long gone. I remember it though from coming up to football games as a little kid.
