I personally can only stand a max of a 6 hour road trip.. Otherwise, get me a plane ticket so I can "get there" To me, getting there is NOT part of the fun.

I'm the exact opposite. Big Momma and crew are flying here from Pittsburgh. I take the train back. I'm not in that big of a hurry. I like to enjoy the countryside. I would LOVE to take Amtrak all the way to Seattle and back.

Road trip... I love taking in the sights. Flying is good if it's cross country, but to somewhere like, say, Florida or Georgia... I'm doing the driving!

Ahhh Davy..
The train is a different animal for a short jaunt.. The Pittsburgh to Philly train ride is very relaxing..
Don't know if I would go all the way cross country though.

I've driven the my nook of PA to my nook of Florida route far too many times.
1 hour in Fl., 5 hours in Alabama (not really exciting), less than an hour in Georgia, 3 hours in tennessee, 5 hours in Virginia, 4 hours in WV and an hour in PA.. Door to door to by parents house and here.
Plane trip from p'cola to Pittsburgh 5 hours with a small layover n Charlotte.. an hour drive south from the airport to the homestead. MUCH nicer option.

It depends on where and with whom I am going. If it's with the fam I have to go with a plane. Too much time with them in a car drives me nuts! With friends I think getting somewhere is half the fun. Of course it helps when you are going somewhere warm!

I have three reasons I love to fly!! 1ST CLASS!!! I love to sit in 1st class and have someone wait on me all the time!! Then there is my back!! I can't stand up and walk around the car and I can't go 1 1/2 hours without stopping to get out and get things going again!! And the last reason....... THE KIDS!!! I have a 8 year old girl and a 5 year old boy that have to stop at every rest stop on the road!!! I do have one other reason that I get pissed driving!! In New Martinsville you are atleast 1 hour to any major highway!!! It sucks to get anywhere!!

Always drive. Actually we never had taken what one would consider a "real" vacation until last year. Before we moved back, our vacation was always coming to WV to visit the family. Last year we went to Helen, GA for a few days to see the hot air balloons they have every summer. With gas prices the way they are, probably a couple of day trips around here will be our vacation this year. There's plenty to see in Wild Wonderful WV !!!

Are you kidding me? Fly my ass there. Driving sucks. If I wanna see the areas inbetween my flights, I'll fly inbetween at a later date.

Mine will be driving next week. Mapquest says a min. of about 12 1/2 hours drive time. On the good side of things MJ and I will be about 1 1/2 hours apart. MJ don't tell them what we have planned already

I personally love to drive. The only reason I fly sometimes is because of time restrictions. Like when I went to San Fran, I would have loved to have been able to take a couple weeks off work and drive out there, spend some there, then drive back. Give me my car and my iPod and I can drive forever. I find driving relaxing, unless I am on my home from work and stuck in rush hour traffic.
