Where were you when you heard the news of the tragedy of 9/11?

I was outside washing my car when it happened, Kelly hollered to me that a plane just hit the WTC. At first I thought it was just a horrible accident until the second one hit. It was a day that I will never forget, just like the day when JFK was shot.

I was asleep. I woke up around 11ish, hungover and hungry. I came down stairs, poured a bowl of cereal, and then sat in front of the TV. When I first turned the TV on, I didn't think it was real. But I quickly realized it was.

I was at home getting ready to go on a trip. I was holding my son watching the news thinking of where the plane was going that crash in PA. Poeple around where I live including me was worried that Camp David was going to be a target. I live about 5 or 6 miles from CD.

I was at work.... and I didn't know ANYTHING was going on because our lab doesn't have a tv.. We were waiting for one of our docs to come in and do a test and we paged hiim and paged him and he FINALLY called us and said.. Have you seen this.. its insane.. a plane flew into the WTC..
Shortly after that my ex paged me and he was FREAKING out.. He said.. OMG OMG We're at war.. I spent most of that day in patients rooms doing procedures and crying with them. I just didn't think it was ever going to stop.. I wasn't 'right' for about a month after that.

I was on my way to work when I first heard the news. I was preparing for a meeting on the drive in, so the radio was turned down low and it was on a howard stern-like morning show known as ManCow. The guy is always full of shit and I never listen to him, but I was focusing on my meeting, so I wasn't paying attention and didn't change the channel.
Eventually the discussions caught my ear and I turned up the volume. I still thought it wasn't real until it was clearly broadcast "A plane has hit the WTC". I then changed to a reliable news source and realized this was true. I got to work and the office was empty. I walked around to find everyone huddled in front of a 13" TV in the lunch room. People were in tears. I walked in about 10 minutes after the 2nd plane hit. My meeting that morning was in the Sears Tower. Obviously I didn't go. I instantly want home and didn't go back to work for 3 days.
