The NFL is looking into making a rule about hair!! The rule is about players with long hair!! The refs said that they could not see the names on the players backs!! Also there have been a couple of players over the last few years that have been hurt by being pulled down by their hair. One other thing the commish was talking about to was that helmets come of real easy with players with longer hair!! I can see their point in not wanting to get players hurt!!! There is no rule on "PULLING HAIR"!! If its there use it!!

I remember a few years ago Troy Polamalu got ripped down by the head of the hair..
After the game he said he didn't mind at all..

LOL that's a classic post by you, RL. Funny shit!
I've heard about this, and frankly I don't care. I say leave it up to the players, but either way I'm still watching football. It's a silly matter IMO.

I really believe that teams and the league should be allowed to tell players what the length of their hair should be!! If the player got hurt from someone pulling the hair the team and league would be out alot of money!! Hell the player can even collect workers comp if the situation is right!! The players and union are looking at this as the league trying to clamp down on players rights but come on its HAIR!! The NFL is not saying you have to cut your hair it just can't cover up you name on the back of your jersey!! That doesn't mean you have to cut it!!

I agree RL..
I think if ya sign a huge contract for more money than most of us will see in a lifetime, the person signing your check should have some say in how you conduct your life.
A PERFECT case in point is the Big Ben motorcycle accident. Ben wasn't even wearing a helmet.. and his injuries really DID affect the outcome of the Steelers season that year. The hair is a different thing though.. Just tie it and put it under your jersey if its such a problem.

NFL = No Fun League. I don't agree with the rule at all. If you have long hair, you know that you can be pulled down by it, and what the consequences are. I am sorry but there are more important things for the NFL to get in a snit about other than how long a players hair is.

I guess the Chiefs are the ones bring this to the NFL Competition Committee. In 2006 Larry Johnson got a 15 yard penalty when he grabbed the hair of Troy Polamalu. Now if its wasn't a penalty to pull by the hair okay there might be a arguement against the rule!! BUT the NFL reconized the risk and makes it a personal foul to pull hair!! So to take it out of play I believe now even stronger ever the rule needs to be made!! You can't have it both ways pull your hair up or fair game!!

I think the announcers did a good job explaining the personal foul.. It wasn't the initial tacle in bounds, it was that Johnson continued to hold the hair and pull him up by the hair after the play was over and Troy was out of bounds.

I heard the hair had to be tucked up in the helmet - makes me wonder if there's gonna be a size limitation on helmets

Coach Edwards needs to worry about winning, that should be his only concern right now.
