West Virginia earned a No. 9 seed and Penn State a No. 6 seed in the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament.
The Mountaineers (24-9) will play No. 8 seed Houston at Baylor on Sunday in a first round game while the Lady Lions (24-9)will play host to No. 11 seed Dayton (21-11) on Saturday.
As for the the entire field, not surprisingly top-ranked and two-time defending champion Connecticut (32-1) was the No. 1 overall seed and is the No. 1 seed in the Philadelphia region.
The other three No. 1 seeds are SEC champion Tennessee (31-2), Big 12 champion Baylor (31-2) and Pac-10 champion Stanford (29-2). Tennessee is in the Dayton Region, Baylor is in the Dallas Region and Stanford is in the Spokane Region.
One other local team of interest -- St. Francis (22-11) -- is in the tournament as a No. 13 seed and will play No. 4 seed Maryland (23-7) in College Park in first round game.
