Sources close to University President Mike Garrison have informed WBGV that Nick Saban's agent has contacted WVU regarding our vacant head-coaching position.
These sources tell us that Saban is extremely unhappy in Tuscaloosa and has failed to recapture the situation he had in Baton Rouge with LSU. The purpose of the agent's call was to express initial interest in the position and to have WVU athletics put together a compensation package enough to lure Saban from Alabama.
WBGV adds that the staff at WVSports.com, the WVU Rivals site, has confirmed the WBGV scoop.

I know he is a WV guy, I believe he is a native of Fairmont, however I don't trust his ass. He screwed the Dolphins, and now after one year he wants to screw bama, I don't like the sound of that.

Just say no !!! I've also heard rumors of Spurrier, God please let that NOT be true. I'd take Rich back before Spurrier.
Lots of names flying around, some I've never heard of. Anyone know anything about Locksley from the Browns? I'm on the fence about Bowden, 10 years is a long time to be away. The O Coord from Illinois name has popped up too, spread style O and remember what they done to the #1 defense in the country? Bud Foster is a defensive genius, if he could get a great O Coord he'd be near the top of my list. Trickett would be a great choice too. I've heard Holliday is somewhat on the corrupt side. I just don't know...... Somebody call Barry Switzer and bring back the wishbone!!!!!!

Been reading too much the past couple of days and getting confused. Locksley is the O Coord at Illinois but I did hear someone from the Browns name come up.

I know Saban is local but I sure don't like his track record - ask Lyn what people think about him up her way when he snuck out of Michigan (Michigan St) for the LSU job.

We're going to need a good recruiter, if nothing else just to keep the ones who committed here and not change their minds with Rod leaving

I would question the reliability of the Saban rumor. He is making $4 million a year, which we could not come close to matching.

Also, his track record is a little unsavory. I like the idea of Terry Bowden. Football is football. He has said WVU is his dream job and has been making the rounds the last 2 years, making contacts and keeping up with the strategical changes in hte collegiate game. His coaching record is incredible. He won his first 20 games at Auburn and was equally successful at smaller schools. As has been previously stated, recruiting is the key factor and the assistant coaches recruiting skills are as important (more) than the head coach. Get the right assistants and I think TB would be perfect.

I do not like Saban at all. I like Bowden, Holliday makes me nervous (recruiting problems in the past).
No to Nick Saban. He's made his own bed down there in Tuscaloosa, he needs to lie in it for a while longer.
