WVU Not Interested in RR's Offer Staff Morgantown
Related Stories: RR Offers To Pay....Some The attorney for WVU says Rich Rodriguez’s offer to pay the University $1.5 million to try to end the contract dispute with WVU will not be accepted. “WVU has absolutely no interest in resolving this case for $1.5 million,” Tom Flaherty told Metronews Tuesday.
Flaherty calls Rodriguez’s offer to pay a “rather strange document” since it seems to ignore the terms of the new contract signed by Rodriguez last fall which included a $4 million buyout.
“He’s (Rodriguez) has completely ignored the contract extension that he agreed to,” said Flaherty. Flaherty pointed out that WVU had been paying Rodriguez under the terms of the new agreement since December of 2006.
Flaherty emphasized there were no negotiations between Rodriguez and WVU that led to Rodriguez’s offer to pay WVU the $1.5 million. He stressed that WVU is “look for the entire $4 million buyout.”
Co-counsel Jeff Wakefield also told MetroNews Tuesday, "There are no negotiations taking place between the university and Rodriguez

I walked into Starbuck's. I got a cup of coffee. They told me i owed them $4. I told them I was willing to settle for $1.50. Guess what their answer was.
