I've been wondering the same thing. Scout still doesn't have him checked off as signing an LOI.

I found this thread while searching around the web. He did sign last year, don't know if he will have to resign or not. He is currently attending prep school. Everything I can find says he is a very powerful runner with speed, speed and more speed! It appears he is going to be a mountaineer. I am going to say this because aparently no one listens when i say it in the threads. Incase if you didnt know, I played football with him and graduated with the kid last year. He is a Yes Sir, No Sir kind of kid, who will be very respectful and very coachable. As for all the questions that people ask about him here we go: Will he qualify? His test scores are fine, and he is there to boost his GPA for the upcoming year. Wil he be a Mountaineer? Yes, he did have several other schools looking at him, including Notre Dame, Texas, and mainly LSU. (LSU was basically on their hands and knees trying to get him there) But Bill Stewart came in to the fiesta bowl and got the head coaching job. all coach stew had to do was stay on staf at WVU and TK was coming here, but in the end, Coach Stew is head chief now and Terence couldnt have been happier. Hows his knee? His knee is fine, Rich Rodriguez told the staff at Hargrave to only give him the ball 4 to 5 times a game. He shined with the only minimal carries that he recieved, including a 4 carry 80 yard game vs the Tennessee JV's. Has He managed to keep the speed with the extra muscle? His personal best came his junior year at the US Army All-American combine. His forty was a 4.38 at 212lbs, the rest of his senior year he ran a 4.45, this past year with the excellent coaching and rehabilitation he is weighing in at 238lbs running a CONSISITANT 4.39.

Kerns in line to join WVU Originally published February 07, 2008
By John Cannon News-Post Staff If all goes as planned, Thomas Johnson graduate Terence Kerns will be at West Virginia for the upcoming season. Kerns said he signed a letter of intent with West Virginia on Wednesday.
Kerns, who committed to the Mountaineers last year, has been attending Hargrave Military Academy so he could academically qualify for WVU.
Standardized tests factor into qualifying. Kerns said he planned to take the ACT test this weekend and the SAT in March. He's been working to improve on them, and his core GPA has been solid.
"I got real good grades last term," Kerns said.
"I'm pretty much qualified and have to get at least a C through the semester."
The semester ends in May. If he qualifies, Kerns said he planned to take summer school at West Virginia. If so, the former TJ star running back might be playing in the fall. The Mountaineers no longer have go-to running back Steve Slaton.
"Now that Steve's left, there's talk about getting me the ball a lot," Kerns said. "So I'm ready."

I read over on CBS that Terrance is taking the SAT today and then we will know whether he qualified or not to join the team this year. It sounds like he's getting the grades so it's looking good. Everybody keep those fingers and whatever else crossed, we need him now more than ever after losing Collington. I like the idea of a powerful fast runner to off set Devine and Sanders.

Kerns has now signed his LOI. However, it is still dependent on him either A. Getting a higher score on the ACT Test he took this week, or B. Having his GPA high enough following the current semester.

Hello all, I am new here and I love that Terrence Kerns is coming to WVU. He is a big running back with a lot of speed. I see him as a Slaton type of running back, maybe better. When his grades come in high enough, it will be another great sign by Stewart.

Here's an atricle that I found published on 2/20, still haven't found out anything about his grades or test score. MORGANTOWN—It took a little longer than Mountaineer fans would have liked, but West Virginia head coach Bill Stewart and his first staff finally received the national letter-of-intent from Hargrave Military Academy standout running back Terence Kerns. Not that the Mountaineer offense would have been without any solid running backs to line up behind two-time Big East Offensive Player of the Year Patrick White, but the stable of ball-carriers has grown somewhat thin with the departure to the NFL draft by All-American Steve Slaton and the loss of redshirt freshman Eddie “Hollywood” Davis, who apparently has left the gold and blue. At 6-foot-1, 225 pounds, Kerns could fill the void left by those defections or even move to the fullback slot vacated by Owen Schmitt. Stewart and recruiting coordinator John “Doc” Holliday also pulled in a couple of last-minute ball carriers in fullbacks Ryan Clarke (6-1, 235) and Tyler Urban (6-4, 240). Urban is listed as a tight end, but the senior at Norwin Senior High School in Huntington, Pa., rushed for 510 yards on 80 carries and scored seven touchdowns as a fullback. Clarke, who runs a 4.5 40-yard dash and benches 335 pounds, carried the football 35 times for 456 yards and six touchdowns as a senior at DeMatha Catholic High School in Burnie, Md. “Ryan (Clarke) is a tremendous competitor and great player who is a sharp student and a great young man,” Stewart explained on Signing Day. “He won me over on the visit and I know his coach. His defensive coach played for me at William and Mary.” But will all of that be enough to replace a running back—Slaton—who rushed for nearly 4,000 yards during his three seasons in Morgantown as well as Schmitt? That will be one of the questions facing Stewart and his staff when spring drills open next month. The answer could very well determine if the Mountaineers challenge again for a national title game berth or play in one of the Big East’s other bowl games. Yes the Mountaineers should have standout freshman Noel Devine back in gold and blue for the spring. But will the 170-pounder be able to step into the starter’s role after rushing for 519 yards during the regular season and 108 and a pair of touchdowns on 13 carries in the win over No. 3 Oklahoma? Yet another question that will have to be answered in the spring. Ask any player or coach and they will tell you that this spring might very well be the most important one in their Mountaineer career—even White. “This spring is going to be very important,” White said during his visit to the Boys and Girls Club of Parkersburg’s Burger and Steak Dinner. “It’s going to be important for us and it’s going to be important to the new coaches.” Depth could become a problem unless Stewart and new offensive coordinator Jeff Mullen plan on moving freshman Jock Sanders, who carried the football 16 times for 110 yards in his first season, back to full time duty in the backfield or hope that sophomore Jetavious Best or former-South Charleston standout Tommy Spurlock can come out of the spring as a solid backup.
