ECU had a helluva game plan and they outplayed us on both sides of the ball, they were definately the better team today and deserve their win.... We got 12 days to lick our wounds and get back on track for the Colorado game..

I dont think fans will so much as ESPN will, I am with you on this one. We did hae alot fo changes in Offense also, Maybe part of the problem with the O is the new stuff that was put in with the new system and all. Our Offensive line look clueless at times with assignments. I have faith and am not done on them, just trying to figure something out of all of this.

I think we'll be okay. This team with through a MAJOR coaching change. It takes time for players and coaches to gel. I think the largest issue with this team is that Rich Rod recruied Offensive Linemen to do strictly zone blocking. Now the new coaching staff is trying to run more of a pro-style offense, and it's not what these lineman are physically built to do. ECU was eating up our offensive line! It also doesn't help that the defense couldn't make a stop - allowing ECU's defense to stay fresh.
Finally, has anyone else noticed that since WVU beat Louisville in 05, we haven't been able to come from behind to secure a victory? Louisvill in 06, South Floria in 06 and 07, and Pitt and 07 and now ECU - our last five losses. In every single instance, the opponent jumped out to a lead, and WVU was unable to play well from behind. I can't think of another game where we had to come from behind and win.
Anyway, it was a VERY well played game by ECU. My hats off to their coaching staff and players for taking advantage of WVU's weaknesses and basically pushing our guys around the field for that programs signature victory.
Now let's regroup and kick some ass in Boulder!!!

The change in the philosophy and the system with the type of players we have is not quite right fir. In the 2 games so far this year we did do a whole offensively.

Simple-- ECU was THAT good, and we SUCKED that bad.
One of those great underdog type games that WVU fans should to relish, because we were always on the other end of the joke. This one hurt, and I hope our team, coaches AND FANS do the right thing--work harder, be even more proud, but patient...
It was a hard hit, losing like that. But it happened.
Let's plan to do better.

And sorry that I didn't credit in my earlier post, DeHayes for his offensive-line analysis, or MTJim for his positivity. Both had it right. I would select either as my vice-president! (soul mates)

I agree that 1. ECU is a very good team that played with a lot of emotion. and 2. We are not a very good team right now. But we still have time to be a good team.
