I posted this on myspace and got this comment from a local bud...
Oct 8, 2008 5:37 PM Another blantant attempt by Hollywood and the Left to paint all those living in rural America as cross-burning racists. The people of your hometown should be disgusted at this horrible piece of revisionist propaganda. Hell, this could even be grounds for a potential lawsuit on behalf of the citizens in the area for defemation of character among other charges. That being said, making a huge public outcry at this moment may work out in favor of the film's producers, as such a public outcry would generate publicity for movie, much like we all saw with pro-Jewish groups during the release of Passion of the Christ. Regardless, it is always interesting to see big city America paint our rural neighbors as gun-toteing racist hicks. Perhaps they should take a weekend away from their big liberal cities and spend a few days at a non-tourist trap small town and actually get to learn a bit about people there before they go flapping their pieholes in such a negative manner about good, honest, hardworking families.

With Auburn struggling to score points and players openly questioning the direction of the offense, offensive coordinator Tony Franklin was fired Wednesday, just hours before the Tigers were scheduled for a practice. AuburnSports.com Franklin is out as Auburn's OC.
"After evaluating where we are at this point of the season offensively, I felt it was in the best interest of the Auburn football program to make this change," AU coach Tommy Tuberville. said. "I'm not satisfied with where we are and I am personally going to take a larger role with the offense the remainder of the season. We are going to work harder than ever to make sure we consistently improve as we move forward."
Auburn's offense has scored just five touchdowns in four SEC games this season, and several players - including senior wide receiver Rod Smith - openly questioned the direction of the offense following Saturday's 14-13 loss at Vanderbilt.
AU's offense is near the bottom of the SEC in most offensive categories, including ninth in scoring offense (18.7 ppg) and 11th in total offense (309.2 ypg). Auburn is last in third down conversions with a 29.7 average.
Franklin was hired in December 2007 to replace Al Borges, who guided AU's offense from 2004-07. Franklin is the architect of the "Tony Franklin System," a spread offense which has been used successfully at high schools across the country and helped Troy average 34 points per game in 2007.
