I may not have thought everything he did was funny but he was one to make you think and then laugh about it later!! The "Seven words you can't say on TV" was one of the funniest thing ever!! WVU Basketball Toughens Schedule Morgantown
West Virginia University Director of Athletics Ed Pastilong has announced the 2008-09 men’s basketball non-conference schedule. The Mountaineers will play 13 non-conference contests, including four games in the Las Vegas Invitational. As part of the Las Vegas Invitational, West Virginia will play Longwood at home and Delaware State in Charleston before traveling to Las Vegas to play two games against either Iowa, Kansas State or Kentucky. West Virginia will open the regular season Nov. 15 at home against Elon and will also play Longwood, Cleveland State, Miami University and Radford at the WVU Coliseum. WVU will play road games at Mississippi, Duquesne and Ohio State. The Mountaineers will play two games in Charleston – Delaware State and Marshall. One additional non-conference game will be confirmed at a later date. Joe Goes Pro WVU Press Release Morgantown, W.Va.
West Virginia University forward Joe Alexander will keep his name in the upcoming NBA Draft, forgoing his final year of eligibility. Alexander entered his name in the draft on April 9, but left open the option of a return to WVU.
"I've used the last few months to explore my NBA options, and I've received a lot of positive feedback from NBA teams," says Alexander. "After evaluating the positive feedback and speaking with Coach Huggins and my father, I believe the best thing for me to do is stay in the NBA Draft. I'll cherish the memories I had at West Virginia University. Even though I'm leaving, I'll always be a part of the WVU family."
As a junior, Alexander led the Mountaineers in scoring at 16.9 points per game and in rebounding at 6.4 boards per game. WVU finished 26-11 and advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16.
"We are very supportive of Joe's decision," says Coach Bob Huggins. "Joe went through the process in a systematic and professional manner by exploring the situation and leaving open his option to come back. I've said all along that Joe has 100 percent support from the Mountaineer basketball family."
The NBA Draft will be held on June 26 at Madison Square Garden.
All I have to say is I wish him the best!! I really was hoping he would come back for 1 more year but he got to do what he thinks is right!! GIVE'EM HELL JOE!!!!
