Mountaineer center Aaric Murray was one of two players missing the final cut for the USA’s World University Games basketball team.
Murray, along with Connecticut guard Shabazz Napier, were both left out of the 12-player roster prior to the team heading overseas for play in China.
The cut comes following six days of training camp at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.
Players making the team include Notre Dame’s Tim Abromaitis, Marcus Denmon of Missouri, Pitt’s Ashton Gibbs, Draymond Green of Michigan State, Alabama’s JaMychal Green, Syracuse’s Scoop Jardine, Vanderbilt’s John Jenkins, UC Santa Barbara’s Orlando Johnson, Greg Mangano of Yale, Trevor Mbakwe of Minnesota, Detroit’s Ray McCallum and Kentucky’s Darius Miller.
The team departs for China on August 8th with official play beginning on August 13th.
