CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Police are investigating after a theft was reported in the locker rooms at West Virginia University during this weekend's football game against Louisiana State University.
Michael Fragale, assistant athletic director for communications at WVU, confirmed there had been an incident Saturday night in the locker rooms during the game but could not say who had been affected or what had been taken.
He said WVU campus police were investigating the matter and deferred all questions to campus police.
Campus Police Chief Bob Roberts said he was notified of a theft in the locker room during the game and sent officers there to investigate. He said he could not comment further on the investigation because it is ongoing.
He expected to have more information on the incident today.
Coach Dana Holgorsen gave few details to reporters during a conference call Sunday.
"That's an internal matter that we'll deal with internally," he said.
A message left for CSC event security was not immediately returned.
