West Virginia University senior forward Kevin Jones was named to the John R. Wooden Award preseason Top 50 list, the Los Angeles Athletic Club announced Monday.
The 6-foot-8, 260-pound Jones averaged 13.1 points, which was second-most on the team, and a team-high 7.5 rebounds in helping the Mountaineers to a 20-12 record.
The list is comprised of the 50 student-athletes who, based on last year's individual performance and team records, are the early front-runners for the 36th annual Wooden Award, which is given to the nation's top men's college basketball player.
