MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- West Virginia University fans will be able to print their game tickets from home.
The university announced this week it is implementing a digital ticket system for basketball games this season and for football games in 2012. WVU says printing the tickets will allow fans to avoid long lines at will-call windows to pick them up.
WVU has renewed a partnership with ticketing agent Paciolan and for the first time will offer the digital ticketing option.
WVU Sports Marketing Director Matt Wells says the system will enable the university to learn who attended certain games, identify unused tickets and their holders, and then make marketing offers and messages to these fans based on their attendance patterns.
The university plans to eventually allow fans to transfer tickets to family and friends.
