My wife and son have been wanting to get a dog the past year. I gave in a year ago and we adopted a beagle, He is a year old and likes to chew on things if someone isnt watching him. Well this evening my wife told me about him chewing things BECAUSE my lazy step daughter wasnt watching him and said she was going to have to give him away. Heres the kicker the dog stays with me when he is with me and behaves very differently with no chewing, he sometimes trys but i tell him no and he usually stops. She isnt going to give that dog away if I can help it, She just pisses me off sometimes.

maybe some chew toys would help??
China chewed and chewed for about 8 months and she finaly got over it.. After about 20 pair of sneekers.. and a newly acquired love for rawhide bones and tennis balls..

when my bassett hound was a pup he chewed on literally everything, especially the chairs to a new dinette set - now 5 years later he is still a very loved part of our family along with our other bassett who is 9. btw, we still use the chairs - bite marks included and not once was giving him away ever brought up

Man, I gotta big ol black dog I like to ride in the pickup with me when I go back to Martinsburg from Morgantown. Heck, the ol dumbass is loved like he is my brother or somethin'. The dog is as goofy as can be and I could never get rid of him, but unfortunately no apartment complex in Morgantown will allow me to keep him there.
To me, A dog is like a family member. Sending a dog off to the pound or putting it to sleep for vague reasoning is like sending my mother or father off to the pound because I am tired of em, I just can't do it.
