MSNsportsNET.com October 8, 2007 MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University quarterback Patrick White was named Big East Conference offensive player of the week for his performance in West Virginia’s 55-14 win at Syracuse last Saturday.
White completed 12 of 15 passes for 148 yards and a touchdown and was also the game’s leading rusher with 89 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries. White left the game in the third quarter with a sprained shoulder and the Mountaineers comfortably ahead.
WVU teammate Keilen Dykes made the Big East honor roll for his 19-yard interception return for a touchdown against the Orange.
West Virginia (5-1) has this weekend off before facing Mississippi State on Saturday, Oct. 20, at Milan Puskar Stadium. There are no tickets available for that game.

Not bad for plaing just over half the game, although why was he in there? The score was 38-7 and he was coming off an injury in the previous game. At least they got Bednarik in there in the 4th to avoid getting Brownie injured.

Nice for the award to go to the Mountaineers, but IMO it shoulda been Schmitt.

Is that because Schmitt sounds a little bit like Smiteedawg? Actually, Schmitt had a great game, but he's only getting a few carries. I wish they would have tried the straight ahead power running game with him running or blocking for Slaton against USF. I know that is not really our game, but I think we could have knocked them off the ball.
