This bitch is about Pete... my ex..
Long time ago before I even knew Pete, he had a seizure and as it turned out he had a frontal brain tumor.. that caused the seizure.
He had brain surgery and the tumor was benign.. just space occupying. He was still taking dilantin when I met him, and he decided one day he was just gonna stop taking the dilantin and everything was fine for about 15 years.
Then he started having some pretty signifigant memory problems about a year ago.. I told him he needed to come in and let me do an EEG on him because his memory problems could WELL be related to independant seizure discharges. Didn't listen. I've only spent the last decade of my life dedicated in some capacity or another to the field of neurology.. So perhaps I know just a little bit about this.
Anyways.. several months ago Pete had injured his shoulder and he was going to physical therapy and he was well on his way to being mended and then all of a sudden one morning he woke up and his shoulder was in raging pain, for no reason.. I asked.. did you bite the inside of your mouth or your tongue last night too.. and he answered yes.
I told him that I fully suspected that he had a grand mal seizure in his sleep the night before. He doesn't share a bed with anyone so no one would have known..
I begged at this point to let me hook him up to an EEG and to get to his doc.. I begged until I was anag and he NEVER would..
I think he probably knew I was right. but he just didn't want to know..
Well today at work Pete had a 5 minute full blown grand mal seizure, with about a 20 minute post ictal state. He's at the ER now. I hope the tumor isn't back
Sometimes I hate being right.. but I hate it even worse that I he wouldn't listen to me.
When he gets the ambulance bill and the ER bill and all the other co pays.. I hope he remembers. I told you so..
