From reading other posts, I think most of us agree we're going to see some different things Friday night. What would you like to see? For me, I'd like to see us THROW the ball DOWNFIELD, a lot !!! We have tons of speed on the outside and White can throw the ball. If we burn them deep it will open up the running game. And maybe a reverse to Sanders or Hogan might work out nicely as well.

I would like to see us throw deep a few times to keep the D on their heels. If it works then do it again. I like the idea of reverses. A few more formations with speed at every skill position and take advantage of the weak spot.

Things I'd like to see Friday night: - # 1, some good weather - watching this tropical storm stuff, it might affect the game, but I think it affects to our advantage - we won't need to throw a bunch to win, I think USF will need too. - Has anyone started a highlight reel of the blocking being done by Wes Lyons, holy crap did he light up some of those ECU players! A couple crushing blocks by him, and I'd love to see him be the recipient of the below mentioned fifty yard TD!! - Pat White pass for three TD's, with the first one being on WVU's first drive and go for over fifty yards. That'd give USF and all future opponents something to chew on. - Steve Slaton go over a hundred and score two ;D - Noel Devine and Jock Sanders rip off a couple of huge runs each, let the Florida haters cringe when they see what they missed out on!! -The defense pick Grothe off three times, taking one back for a TD, and sacking him 3 times or more, and hold their runing back to under 100 yards rushing - I huge win on national TV, and the pollsters will have to take notice and start talking about us more than just the footnote we are to them right now.

Ditto on what Joe said (plus some overdue respect for WV & the Big East from ESPN)

Damn Joe, If we get half of that we'll kick their ass!! And speaking of blocking, did anyone notice Reynaud take out 2 guys with one block on Devine's long run in the Maryland game?? BTW, anyone know if Erin Andrews is gonna be on the sidelines Friday? ;D

I agree with Smitteedawg... 1. throw the ball down the field 2. a couple of reverses to keep their speedy defense off balance.
Remember this, USF has the best pair of cornerbacks in the country, so we must select our plays based on where thhese guys line up

I like what everyone else is saying plus I would like to see a blow out if at all possible. The close games are fun to watch, but nerve racking, and a blow out of a ranked team would have to get everyones attention.

I'd like to see Slaton and Devine on the field at the same time. One in the backfield, one out wide. Owen at TE, Reynaud other wide. Someone is either going to be open, or the field will be open for a long White run.

I'm so not a coach.. I've never played the game. What I I think is important is to keep everyone fresh and NOT over worked in the FLORIDA heat. I think we need to play ball control to some degree.. So the D can get rest.. We have QUITE a depth of talent on O to rotate Give Brown a turn at QB for a series.. Let Slaton sit out for a few. YEs open it up and run some sure short routes.. but DO NOT march down the field in 2 minutes just because we can..
The D is gonna fight a dog fight, especially the secondary.. Let them time for rest. Our O can substitute with our depth and play well so no one gets tired. Ball Controll Clock Control and BETTER special teams efforts..

Nice game plan MJ, you sound like a coach to me!! I totally agree with letting Brown have a series or two. The forcast for Fri is high of 89 low of 74 with 40% chance of rain. At least the game is at night so they won't have to deal with the blazing sun bit it will still be warm. Although I'd like to see a couple of quick marches down the field early to get a jump on them.

The other thing I would like to see is that our D play with the same intensity and play to their capabilities. The question can they do it for a second game or not. If they dont it might be a long night. Lets hope that they are not a 2 game wonders.

Smitee, I can understand the few first off quick strikes to shut the home crowd up. The heat is gonna be our foe, as I've said a zillion times. Doesn't matter if its a night game.. which helps a little.. but YOU know full well that there is heat and humidity down here so bad I swear I have a set of gils to breathe.

After watching the ECU game, I'm not sure WVU needs to go down field early, especially against USF's great corners. Why risk a pick when the bubble screens were impossible to stop against ECU? If we can march the ball down the field with safe screens and Slaton/White/Devine run plays, why risk the long ball???
Now, if the Bulls D is playing the line to stop the runs and bubble screens, then it's necessary to go down field with a few. But I say give it a series or two to see if they can stop our ECU game plan first, because ECU sure couldn't stop it.
