Dave Weekley Charleston Gazette
With college football kicking off this week, I have so many notes and so little time…
ESPN's “25 Hours of College Football’’ leading up to its first game on Thursday (LSU-Mississippi State, 8 p.m.) begins with a four-hour special edition of “College Football Live’’ at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, with WVU’s Rich Rodriguez scheduled as a live guest.
The program will also feature pep rallies at Louisville, Florida State and Mississippi State, a live look-in on practice at Southern Cal and the compete version of the previously taped Notre Dame coaches roundtable with Brent Musburger and former coaches Ara Parseghian and Lou Holtz and current coach Charlie Weis.
It’s now confirmed that former Miami coach Larry Coker will be the analyst for Marshall’s opener against the Hurricanes on Saturday in the Orange Bowl on ESPNU at noon. In addition, the early word has it that Pam Ward and Ray Bentley will have the call on the WVU-Marshall game on ESPN2 the following week.
