.... Lee Corso doesnt like us. I dont know whether you guys and girls realize this but in 1980 when Nehlen came he, Corso applied and got passed over for our head coaching job. Now i may not have agreed with Nehlen's offesive strategies most of the time, I am DAMN glad Corso didnt get the job.  |

There is one other reason. It was either 1972 or 1975, when there were only about 12 bowl games. West Virginia got invited to the Peach Bowl. I believe we were 8-3 or 9-2. The Louisville head coach ( Corso) cried the blues in the press because his team (10-1) didn't get the bid. At that time Louisville played what would now be considered a div 1-AA schdule, playing no one, and had a small fan following.
