Bearcats Climb to No. 23 in BCS UC ranked 20th by Associated Press and 21st in Harris Interactive Poll CINCINNATI -- After wrapping up the regular season with a 52-31 win at Syracuse, the University of Cincinnati moved to No. 23 in this week's Bowl Championship Series (BCS) Standings. Cincinnati climbed to 20th in this week's Associated Press Poll, 21st in the Harris Interactive Poll and 24th in the USA Today Coaches' Poll.
Second in the country in takeaways with 39, and fourth in turnover margin (+1.42 per game), the Bearcats are on their way to finishing the season ranked in the Top 25 for the first time in program history. Owning an all-time record of 4-6-1 when nationally ranked, the Bearcats are one win away from equaling the program's single-season victory total set in 1951.
Cincinnati (9-3, 4-3 BIG EAST) concluded the 2007 regular season on Saturday with a 52-31 win at Syracuse. Third in the BIG EAST standings, and owning three wins over Top 25 foes this season, UC is awaiting an invitation to its postseason destiny and a bowl game.
