WVU track competes at Penn State
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The West Virginia University track and field team finished up competition at the Penn State Invitational Saturday at the Horace Ashenfelter III Indoor Track in University Park, Pa. Marie-Louise Asselin headlined West Virginia’s afternoon by winning the 1,000-meter run with a time of 2:47.94. Asselin edged Georgetown’s pair of Renee Tomlin (2:48.22) and Maggie Infeld (2:50.55). Freshman Katelyn Williams cleared 1.72-meters in the high jump to take fifth-place. Freshman Ahna Lewis ran to a second-place at 10:08.77 in the 3,000-meter run. April Rotilio placed seventh in her section of the 200-meter dash at 24.79. Maria Dalzot placed eighth in her group in the 1mile run with a time of 5:11.86. On Friday, West Virginia freshman Chelsea Carrier placed sixth in the indoor pentathlon. Carrier, a native of Buckhannon, scored 3,601 points on the five events.
