WVU’s Wright named Soccer America MVP
West Virginia University midfielder Andy Wright was named a Soccer America MVP Friday.
He was one of 22 players named to the College Men’s MVP teams, its version of an All-America team. Wright recently completed one of the finest careers by a midfielder in school history. The senior netted six goals and six assists for 18 points in 2007, taking home Big East Midfielder of the Year honors.
The All-America honor is the third for Wright, also named a second team All-American by CollegeSoccerNews.com and a third team All-American by the NSCAA.
“I am very happy for Andy and certainly wish him nothing but the best as he prepares for his future as a professional,” said coach Marion LeBlanc
