WVU earns No. 15 seed in NCAA men’s soccer
MORGANTOWN — The No. 18/15 West Virginia University men’s soccer team is seeded No. 15 and received a first-round bye in the NCAA tournament. The Mountaineers will face the winner of the Virginia-St. Peter’s match on Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium. WVU returns to the national tourney for the third consecutive year and just the fifth time in program history. This is the second straight season the Mountaineers have been seeded, both under coach Marlon LeBlanc. “I’m very pleased that we are one of the seeded teams, and I am very happy with the team,” said LeBlanc. “We are going to take the next week to heal and to scout both Virginia and St. Peter’s.” WVU is currently on a seven-game unbeaten streak and is 7-1-2 over its last 10 games. Just 16 teams out of the 48-member tournament are seeded and have a firstround bye.
