WVU men to play UVA in NCAA soccer
MORGANTOWN — The West Virginia University men’s soccer team (13-5-2) will play host to Virginia (12-7-2) on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium in the second round of the NCAA men’s soccer tournament. The first 400 WVU students will be admitted to the game free of charge with a valid ID. The Mountaineer Manics are providing 200 student tickets, and WVU men’s soccer supporter, Terry Kramer, is sponsoring the additional tickets. Tickets for adults are $7; tickets for youth and students are $5 each. All tickets will be available at the gate on Wednesday. The No. 18/15 Mountaineers are seeded No. 15 and received a first-round bye in the NCAA tournament. Virginia defeated St. Peter’s 3-1 last Friday to advance to the second round. The winner of this match will face the winner of Furman/Wake Forest in the Sweet 16 this weekend. WVU returns to the national tournament for the third consecutive year and 10th time in program history. This is the second straight season the Mountaineers have been seeded, both under coach Marlon LeBlanc.
