I've actually contemplated this for several years. Its an untapped market. Ive bonced around menues, and logistics and stuff and I think its something people could gig with on the weekends.
If there was a breakfast delivery service in your area, and the food was homecooked and hot when arriving at your door.. Would you do it?

I would, however I was thinking in terms thatS when people had the most time to cook, the weekday morning could be hectic for alot of families GOOD IDEA!!!

Dennis, we would have to start out on the weekends to see if it would take off, first. I'm in a tourist town and the beaches here are filled with condos for rent and not hotels that offer breakfast. On the beaches there are very few restaurants open for breakfast. There are also lots of hung over or otherwise lazy people. Alex also mentioned the church crowd.
We would HAVE to organize ourselves to be very close to our clients because breakfast things don't stay hot for long.

It's completely untapped! A very good idea! A great foot-in-the-door is to find a few business with morning meetings you could cater. Pass out business cards that way. That's weekday stuff though, so that could be tough.
Getting word out could be the most difficult part.

LOL, I will be doing this on vaca in two weeks. There's a restaurant in the ground floor that delivers very yummy breakfast to the suites. I love their steak and eggs!

That's weekday stuff though, so that could be tough. Getting word out could be the most difficult part. It would take the winter to get a catering license, a KITCTEN and get the equipment , get a website up. Since initially we would be catering to the beach condo residents and tourists, we would offer free stuff at condo association meetings, and hand out menu flyers and cards on the beach. We could also offer catering to churches that have kitchens and social halls before or after church.. If this would take off with this small group of the wealthy and affluent, and the church goer for weekend activity. If there is enough profit to make a go of it.. Catering to businesses for business meetings during the week could be a possibility.

We also are contemplating the dark thirty bar scene as a possible route on the weekends. Associate with a few clubs/bars that wouldn't mind us handing out 'to go boxes as patrons leave for the night. Everyone down here goes out for breakfast at 3 AM.. Just offer them their coffee and something good to put in their belly before they get a chance to go to Waffle House, Denny's or IHOP.
