It has been very hot and dry here. They actually started water restictions in some areas. Not in mine yet. But yesterday and all morning today it has been raining. They say it will continue until sunday. I hate rain but we def need it.

Autumn in Chicago is very different from Pensacola. We have had a very mild Fall so far, but the cliche here is "if you don't like the weather in Chicago, wait a few hours. It will change." Things change quickly. One day- high of 70. Next day- high of 48.

Smurph,
I was hoping to go to Chicago a few weeks ago for an ENG syposium. The hsopital dropped the ball and didn't reserve my room in time.. I would have LOVED to see some changing of leaves and a real crisp fall night.

We had a little "Frost On The Pumpkin" here this morning, our 3rd frost in the past week or so. Right now it's a very cool 35 degrees. We still have some color but for the most part the foilage came and went pretty quickly because of all the dry weather. Warm sun, crisp air.....ahhhhhh I love West Virginia !!!!

I'm watching the Iowa vs. Northwestern game and I wanna be in Chicago so badly!! I think I'll like Houston more once we get out of this nasty apartment we moved into.
Elapid - Welcome, and I agree! I wish I had my 21-year old energy back.

DeHayes, Chicago misses you, too, dude.
And MJ, If you do make it up here one of these days, let me know and I'll give you the tour. One of my WVU buddies was here 2 months ago for the first time. I enjoyed the sightseeing tour as much as he did.

I should be back in mid-December for my company's holiday party. Looking forward to staying in a downtown hotel during Christmas season. Visit the little German Christmas thing at Daly Plaza. Take a stroll up and down Michigan Ave to see the lights and watch people. Pop into a Garrett's for some popcorn, then head over to Uno's or Giordano's for some Chicago-style pizza.
I really can't wait. I'm afraid my visit back is when it's really going to sink in.

Smurph, I have actually been to Chicago for a whirlwind winter weekend several years ago.. We went to The Field, Shedd's Aquarium and Aldar planitaruim. Is Sue Still at the Field? I could have spent days there oooohing and ahhing. I really had a TON of Fun and Chicago seems to be an amazing town.. I do look forward to returning one day, and I will take you up on the offer. My trip there was t meet online friends.. There is a photo album here if you would like to take a peek. groups.msn.com/TheLivingSinglesBunch/singlesinchicago.msnw

Doug,
You sound BAD homesick.. I'm so sorry.. I do hope that once you get out of the crappy apartment and Shelley starts working, that you'll find some wonderful things about Houston.. I am quite aware of the culture shock of moving from the north to the deep south..
However, come January when its 20 below and there is 2 feet of snow on the ground up north, you can call your friends up north and bitch that its 45 degrees and yer freezing to death.. LOL
Also April is AMAZING down here.. Best month by far.... warm and sunny during the day, a little chilly at night.. the humidity is low.. ahhhh Its awesome!
