About a month ago, my ex husband Pete did cpr on a 2 year old girl that has been pulled out of his apartment complex swimming pool by the little girl's care giver. She was blue and not breathing. Pete did chest compressions as another neighbor did the breathing.
The little girl was taken to sacred heart hospital and she lived and is a spunky little 2 year old that quite amazingly wasn't physically hurt after being clinically ead for a few minutes. . The Local paper did a tiny piece on the event the next morning and I posted that over on general.
However, the local tv station took the story and spun it in a WHOLE different direction. They did interview Pete the next day, but they slated him as the man that called 911. They made a HUGE story about a Marine that lived in in the apartment complex who jumped into the pool and saved her and singlehandley did CPR. ETC ETC ETC.
The story WEAR did was total bullshit. This marine apparently TOLD the BIG fish Story, after doing absolutely NOTHING in saving this little girl and the media ran with the attractive, military hero story.
I guess enough eye witnesses to the event complained to WEAR and the PNJ that at least the News Journal is doing an investigative report. Apparently the Marine Dude got some medal and a promotion for a civic minded duty and the Florida senate did something special for him. etc
And the news journal is NOW looking into the event for fraud. And there was fraud. They are leaving Pete voice messages anfd trying to set up interviews.
Pete is just happy that the little girl is alive and well. He does NOT want to ruin the career of the marine. He just wants this all to go away.
If you were the one who actually helped save a little girl's life, and if you wanted credibility in journalism.. would YOU speak up?
