Last Night's loss was as difficult to digest as crunching and eating the beer bottle after the beer was all gone. But like broken glass in your digestive system, this too shall pass. After the game last night, I played a mindless game on club pogo with nameless other people, and I couldn't go to sleep until I beat them. This morning after sleeping in a little bit.. it still stings but NOT too bad..Fortunately, I have made plans for the evening that do NOT revolve around football entirely. I'm doing a sleep over thing with my best friend Dawn and we're gonna watch the USC game and drink and smoke and chit chat so I can teach her about football.. (she's a trojan alum) Tomorrow I will be better.. and we will plan for the future and get over this loss.

The hardest part for me was getting up this morning and coming to work. It is never hard after a big win because my adrenaline is pumping. However that was not the case today. It is hard to focus on work, my mind still wonders to different plays of the game, and I can't stop it. But after work the healing starts. I probably won't watch any football, I will work on some music projects, if I burry myself into something creative it helps me regroup. And my fiance will be coming to see me tonight. If you don't know she lives in WV while I am in DC. She is staying the whole week, so by the next game I will be feeling fine.

Hey MJ, what you said to Brian made me think of an old Confucius saying:
7 days make hole weak
As for getting over a loss, I keep repeating to myself - it's only a game, it's only a game, it's ...... by the next day I'm usually ok. At least my high school, West Fairmont, came through last night beating 2nd ranked University 13-12, WTG Polar Bears! (and Dayton & Camille looked super nice!)

Seeing Oklahoma lose and ND lose again made me feel a little better.
I actually couldn't sleep last night. I was up all night thinking about how just a few of those bad plays cost us the game. If Grothe hadn't kept his balance when we hit him, he wouldn't have completed that 50 some yard bomb. If Jarret had just fallen down with the sack instead of making that ill-advised throw into the end zone. There are sooo many of these I could go over...

I kept going over things myself and wondering about what the hell happen exactly. I was also thinking about how could our team who the coaches thought has a good week of practice play like this. Here it is Sunday afternoon, and I still have a better taste of it in my mouth. But I will be moving on and looking forward to ripping Syracuse a new one next week.

Yeah, I was in mourning until Sunday afternoon. I have seen many great WVU victories and many disappointments (every year I thought this would be the year we finally beat Penn St.), kind of like Cubs fans. Can't let it bring me down from the happiness in my life.
