You know when they hired him I was uncertain, mainly because I didn't know anything about him and becuase I wanted one of our own guys promoted. Once those 2 left for Arizona, I was not sure what to think. But throughout the pre-season I have been pretty happy. I also watched his press conference the other day, and I like his attitude. (If you want to watch his press conferences throughout the season they are on direct tv ch: 628 I believe, it is FOX Sports Pitts. But you cannot watch the live ones because they are blacked out, but on Tues nights at 6 Savaran on Sportsbeat replays them. ) Also there is a guy I work with who is a big Vickings fan and he only has great things to say about Tomlin, so all in all, I think we will be fine. I predict a wild card playoff birth this season.

While I'M not a Steelers fan, I do like Tomlin as a coach and I think he will do well.

Tomlin is a definite upgrade. Cowher's laidback attitude last year is the reason the Steelers didn't make the playoffs (that and injuries to Big Ben and Polamalu)

Smurph,
I agree that Cowher's passion wasn't there last year and that hurt us badly.. As well as the injuries to Ben and Troy.
However Sunday I still wasn't impressed with our Offensive line. We couldn't get a real running game going and Ben was on his ass far too many times..

The Steelers should be favored in their first 5 games before the bye week. By then we should know about the offensive line. There are 2 new starters in there and it may take a while for them to get it together.

But we are the Steelers and you know the running game will be there.
