Four former West Virginia men's soccer players saw action this past weekend in Major League Soccer (MLS) action, highlighted by Jarrod Smith's first career MLS goal, in his MLS debut as Toronto FC defeated David Beckham's LA Galaxy, 3-2.
Smith, a former All-American, started the game and scored Toronto's second goal of the match.
Aaron Pitchkolan, a 2004 alumnus of WVU, came off the bench for FC Dallas in a 2-0 win over the New York Red Bulls.
Two Mountaineers appeared on the field for DC United this weekend.
Devon McTavish, a 2005 alumnus of the program, started for the United, while 2008 graduate, Dan Stratford, appeared as a substitute in a 4-0 loss to Real Salt Lake.

I love hearing about former Mountaineers making it big, regardless of the sport/business.
