I don't know if where you work there is an IS deparment, but they are the bane of our existance in the hospital.
A couple months ago our laptop that we use for portable EEG was stolen from the lab. IS took it upon themselves to order us a 14 inch laptop. (2 inches smaller than what we had) Well for what we do, its NOT adequate. We watch 18 squiggly lines on the screen at the same time.. if the monitor is too small, the squiggles cna't sqiggle like they should because they are too close together.
We had to load the new laptop with the cadwell software and use it anyways until a new laptop of the proper dimensions could be ordred..
And while loading the software, I had to obtain administrative rights for the computer through IS.. because IS already dicked with it before it arrived in the lab. Ugh.. After they came in and did their voodoo we still can't get the computer to talk to the reader station, and howard from IS, just decided to leave. I've been burning CDS because howard only did half of his job..
Well now our 16 laptop is there and I have to await for IS to come and help me, because AGAIN, they didn't just leave the computer alone before they sent it to us.. AND IS is bitching because we haven't returned the 14 inch monitor..
If they didn't Baptistize the damn thing before we got it, I wouldn't NEED their help. They take off, My Computer and give administrative rights to the hospital.. Well the software we use requires they have administrative rights to the computer.
This isn't a a typical computer, its a piece of medical equipment.. They shouldn't have TOUCHED it.. Bio Med should do that.. Debbie from bio med always told us.. NEVER EVER let IS touch the computer but they had to make sure they do..
Its insane..
