Couple arrested after fight involving a potato peeler

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Police arrested a Charleston couple after a physical fight sent one of them to the hospital with wounds from a kitchen utensil.
Stacy D. Kirk, 18, of Jackson Street told Patrolman C.E. Sizemore that her husband Nicholas B. Kirk, 18, choked her and hit her several times in the face and in the back of the head, according to a complaint filed in Kanawha Magistrate Court.
The incident allegedly happened Monday, the complaint said.
Nicholas Kirk told another investigating officer that his wife cut him with a potato peeler during the altercation, the complaint said.
Police said Nicholas Kirk had a large wound on his arm, and he was taken to Charleston Area Medical Center's General Hospital for treatment, the complaint said.
Nicholas Kirk was charged with domestic battery and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Stacy Kirk was arrested and charged with malicious wounding, a felony. ;D
