Police looking for doughnut shop robber by From staff reports
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Police are looking for a man accused of robbing a Kanawha City doughnut shop at gunpoint.
A man walked into the Donut Connection on MacCorkle Avenue about 1 a.m. today wearing a black mask, black jacket and black pants, and pointed a gun at the clerks. Witnesses told police the man came in through the back door.
The man ordered James Lacy, 22, and Richard Young, 40, to the floor and told Young to tie Lacy with a piece of cord he had brought with him, according to a statement released by Sgt. Aaron James.
The man then gave Young a crowbar and told him to open the office door. The man brought the crowbar with him, police said.
While Young was working on forcing open the door, the man kicked Lacy and threw a trash can at his head, James said. When Young opened the door, the man rushed in and took what money he found and fled the store.
Charleston police, with the help of a Kanawha County K-9 unit, tried to track the man but were not able to find him.
Police are still investigating.
"Seriously, why rob a place where the po-po hangs out...the guy wasn't found because he was taken somewhere to be seriously beaten for this stupidity"
