I know I've been very quiet these past few months. Things just haven't been very good in the Sunshine State lately. My hospital attempted to purchase another local hospital this past year and in trying to save money and cut corners my hours were reduced to essentially PRN employment. The deal fell through because of the pitiful economy and the bank collapse, and I'm not sad about that at all. My hospital needs to stay right where it is. I've filed for and I'm recieving partial unemployment for the first time in my life. Though Baptist is still staying where it was, I'm still not working more full time.
I moved in with my ex husband Pete in December because he was about to lose his house as well. This was for economic purposes only. He works in retail; and his hours were cut as well. No one has any money so they don't go to Lowe's unless the toilet breaks or something. He recently applied for and got a second part time job to sort of help out a little bit. Its hard to imagine that more than 3000 people applied for 200 new jobs at a new Target. Insane!
So I've been pretty distant, because I'd rather not just bitch about things.
Hope we all have a better 2009.
