Hey Guys - I'm going to be headed to Iowa City with the lady for a wedding. We're leaving early Friday morning and will be returning Tuesday of next week. Just wanted to give you a heads up that I'll be offline for a few days starting Friday.

Thanks, Ray! Should be fun, but busy! Had it not been for this wedding, I would have been in Mo-town for Game Day. Already had it lined up. Saturday is my birthday, so it was going to be my present.

Hey everyone! I'm returned from my trip on Tuesday, but it's been crazy since we returned. Up until two weeks ago there were two Project Managers at my company, and two weeks ago they fired the other guy (poor performance). That left me with a ton of work! Anyway, when I got back from vacation, I was told I needed to find at least 1 new Project Manager to back-fill my position, because I'm getting promoted!
This is great news - I'll be over all of the engineers in the Houston office as well as the Project Managers (once some are hired) and the Project coordinators, too. Once we have full-staff, it should be a team of about 12-14 that will fall under me. The new position is SUPPOSED to start on April 1st, which is crazy, because that is the same day my wife is being laid off from her company!
It's nuts how things go sometimes. I just know to count my blessings.

We actually carpool most days now! Our jobs are only a few blocks away from each other. But she won't be working anymore starting April 1.

Nope. The engineers would make terrible Project Managers, and our Project Coordinator isn't interested or qualified. It's putting me in a pickle.

My new boss (after I get promoted) is getting divorced, but her soon-to-be-ex husband just got laid off, so he's staying in (what will become) her house until he gets a new job. She wants me to hire him!!
How fucked up is that? I'm staying as far away from that as I possibly can, which is why I need to find someone QUICKLY!
