BARBOURSVILLE, W.Va. -- Two Marshall football players have been suspended after being arrested on drug charges in western West Virginia.
Tailback Darius Marshall and defensive back DeQuan Bembry, also known as DeQuan Starling, were arrested early Saturday in Cabell County and charged with possession with intent to deliver. An officer at Western Regional Jail said they both were being held there on $20,000 bond.
The officer did not know if the players had an attorney.
Last season as a sophomore, Marshall ran for 1,177 yards and scored five touchdowns. Bembry had 80 tackles, including 7.5 for loss, and intercepted a pass as a redshirt freshman.
Marshall coach Mark Snyder says he's disappointed in the players' decision-making.
These are 2 of Marshall's best players. This will really hurt. I feel bad for Coach Snyder. Pruitt left him in a bad spot when he left. Snyder seems like a nice guy. Deserves better.

I'm with ya, Smurph. Hate to see anyone throw their life away because of something silly like this. It also hurts their families, their friends, their teammates and their coaches, plus it's damaging to the school's reputation.
