MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The women's major college soccer polls this week rank West Virginia 14th (National Soccer Coaches) and 17th (Soccer America).
The Mountaineers are No. 2 in the coaches' regional rankings, announced Tuesday. WVU (0-0-1), previously a member of the Mid-Atlantic Region, now falls under the Northeast Region, where fellow Big East Conference member Notre Dame is No. 1.
West Virginia returns to action with a trip to University Park, Pa., to take part in the Penn State Invitational. WVU battles No. 8 Penn State on Saturday night, then faces Brigham Young at noon Monday.
