Have you ever done a major remodel of a room or rooms in your house?
We're in the middle of a LONG remodel of the main bathroom and we're doing all the work ourselves so its a HUGE PITA. I think it will be all worth it in the end.. but the major mess and inconvenience is getting really depressing.

We bought our house 4 years ago, and I did a lot of work in it before we moved in. 2000 feet of hardwood floors, new doors, doorfrmes, baseboards, crown mould, tile on kitchen backsplash, new powder room, painting. Twenty years working in the remodeling, decorating business, I always wanted to do my own home and finally got the chance. I will remodel the bathrooms someday also.
I would be happy to offer any advice to help you with your project. The home remodeling programs on the DIY channel are usually pretty good and you can access individual shows online. I believe it is DIY.com. Another thing I recommend is when you are buying materials - fixtures, tile, paint, drywall, ask the salesperson a lot of questions about the products and what he/she recommends.

I LOVE DIY and HGTV and actually my first major at WVU was Interior design.
And thanks for the offer of advice but I think we have that covered. Pete has worked at Lowes for 13 years. He can't fix the car but he can do plumbing and sheet rock. I'm most concerned about doing the tile floor though.. I think we will be ok though.

If he works at Lowe's , you should be good to go. Main thing with tile is using the right mastic, use tile spacers, and wait one day before grouting.

I unfortunately think the tile is too big for the space.. The tile is 1 foot tile and we're only covering a 12 by 12 area.
