Rich Rodriguez's days may be numbered as the Michigan football coach, at least according to ESPN's Michael Wilbon.
Monday on Tony Kornheiser's radio show, Wilbon said Rodriguez and Notre Dame's Charlie Weis are finished at the end of this season.
"I had a solo conversation with someone who is affiliated with the current coach at Michigan, and he does not believe for a second that he'll be back," Wilbon said.
Kornheiser said surely Rodriguez would return for another year, but Wilbon was steadfast.
"I was stunned by this conversation, which was Saturday, an hour-and-a-half after that [Wisconsin] game," Wilbon said. "And he says that he would bet me right now - took his wallet out and threw it down - that this is not going to happen.
"I'll just tell you, this guy played for Rich Rod."

I'd bet what money I set aside for the bowl game that Rich Rod is DONE in Michigan. He's done more harm to that storied program in 2 years than anybody else did to any program...

I searched around yesterday and read more insight to this whole deal. The MU atheletic director Martin has put in for his retirement in September of '10. They are claiming that he wants to clear this whole mess up before he retires. He doesn't want the new AD to have to deal with this. The loss to Ohio State this weekend will definitely ice the cake. Another interesting tidbit was that there is a clause in Fraud's contract that says if MU is under investigation by the NCAA that he can be let go without any compensation. Guess who is under investigation right now? Oh how the plot deepens.

I keep reading about this and the story seems to differ on who is talking to whom, and who is a RR hater or not. Check this out......
Rich Rodriguez 'absolutely' will be coach next year, Bill Martin says Posted: 5:30 p.m. November 21, 2009
Michigan football coach Rich Rodriguez said after Saturday’s 21-10 loss to Ohio State that he hasn’t been told anything about his job status for next year.
Rodriguez’s agent, Mike Brown, said earlier this week that Michigan president Mary Sue Coleman gave Rodriguez a vote of confidence in a private phone call Monday.
Rodriguez was asked if Coleman said anything to him about 2010.
“No,” he said. Rodriguez also said he’s not concerned about whether he’ll be Michigan’s coach next year. As Rodriguez was answering questions, associate athletic director for media relations Bruce Madej stood to his side and said, “He’s fine.” Rodriguez is 8-16 in two seasons as Michigan coach. The Wolverines won their first four games this year, but finished 5-7 and tied for last place in the Big Ten. Last year, they went 3-9. The back-to-back losing seasons are the first in program history since 1962-63, and Rodriguez is the first Michigan coach to lose his first two games to Ohio State.
Michigan athletic director Bill Martin also endorsed Rodriguez on Saturday.
“Rich Rodriguez is our coach,” he said. “I and the administration fully support him, and you’ll see him in the future.”
When asked if that meant next year, Martin said, “Absolutely.”
Even if Michigan is found to have committed NCAA violations regarding excessive practice time?
“He will be our coach next year, today,” Martin said.
Asked to clarify what “today” meant, Martin said, “Well then delete the word today.”
“He’ll be here next year, no question,” Martin said.
