March 3, 2011 West Virginia will enter the Big East women's basketball tournament as the No. 10 seed and will face No. 15 Cincinnati at 6 tonight at the XL Center in Hartford, Conn. The Mountaineers (22-8, 8-8 Big East) closed out the regular season with a 69-49 win over St. John's Monday in Morgantown. However, WVU has lost seven of its last 10 games. Liz Repella leads WVU in scoring, averaging 14.0 points, while Madina Ali nets 13.1 points a game. The Bearcats (9-19, 2-14) snapped a 13-game losing streak Monday with a 65-62 home win over No. 20 Marquette. Shareese Ulis is the only Cincinnati player averaging in double-figure scoring with 13.9 a contest. The Bearcats' 13-game skid began with its lone meeting with the Mountaineers, when WVU defeated Cincinnati 72-44 Jan. 8 in Morgantown. The game will stream live on www.bigeast.org. The winner will face No. 7 St. John's at 6 p.m. Saturday.
