MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — West Virginia University track and cross country standout Marie Louise Asselin has taken a gold medal at the Pan-American Games in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Asselin won the medal in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 17 minutes, 40.28 seconds this past weekend.
This is the Canadian native’s second medal in the games. She also won a silver in the 3,000-meter run.
Asselin will be a sophomore at WVU next season.
