Jason Butts has been named West Virginia University's gymnastics coach.
Athletic director Oliver Luck announced Butts' appointment Tuesday.
Butts becomes only the third gymnastics coach in school history. He replaces Linda Burdette-Good, who retired after 37 years.
Butts served as an assistant and associate head coach under Burdette-Good for the past five years.
