Former West Virginia guard Dalton Pepper has made his transfer official by signing a letter of intent to play basketball with Temple University in Philadelphia.
WVU announced Pepper's intention to transfer last month, saying the sophomore wanted to be closer to his ailing dad.
The Levittown, Pa. native will sit out the 2011-12 season before having two years of eligibility with the Owls.
At West Virginia, Pepper played in 62 games, starting once. He averaged 3.5 points and 10.1 minutes per game in helping the Mountaineers to 53 wins and a trip to the 2010 Final Four. He connected on 41 3-pointers in 123 attempts (.333) in his two seasons under coach Bob Huggins.
Temple will return four starters from last season's team that posted a 26-8 record and advanced to the third round of the NCAA tournament.
