Met or seen anyone famous? Also, seeing athletes from the stands or actors/actresses from the seats of a broadway musical don't really apply. Someone you saw/met outside of their typical environment (i.e., at a mall, at dinner, in a strip club).

Well, I met Jeff Gordon @ the Hendrick Motorsports Complex 10 years ago... got his autograph and everything. Recently at the Arnold Classic (that's Schwarzenegger, not Palmer) in Columbus, I saw Larry Fitzgerald, Jose Conseco, Lou Ferrigno, and Bill Romanowski. Of course, I would NOT want Conseco promoting my products...
I also met Bobby Ray Shafer (who plays Bob Vance, Vance Refrigeration on "The Office") at a WV Power game this past summer...
As far as politicans go, I met former Senator Trent Lott back in 2006 in Charleston. I went to a rally Pres. Bush was having in Parkersburg in 2004, and went to a 4th of July appearance here in Morgantown in 2005. I also met radio talk show host Glenn Beck in Pittsburgh in June 2006 during his "Mid-Life Crisis Tour"

I saw Pete Rose in Vegas (go figure, right?). Dick Clark at a shopping mall in Chicago. Josh Hartnett on the streets of Chicago, David Spade and Will Ferrell in the lobby of my old office building in Chicago (each on different days), Dee Snyder on the streets on Chicago...that's all I can think of right now. I haven't seen any since I moved to Houston.
They film a TON of movies in Chicago, so there were always famous people there. Plus the paparazzi don't really come to Chicago, so it's a great city where stars can go be regular people without all the annoying photographers. Also, there were like 4 different radio stations that broadcast from the building I worked in, so there were always famous hollywood/musicians in the building.

Oh, I saw Dusty Baker outside the Pepsico HQ building in Chicago, too. I was leaving the building after a meeting and he was on his way in, probably to ink some deal with gatorade or something.

I saw Tyson Chandler just out of his Hummer and run into a bank downtown Chicago...he ran right in front of me. I also saw MANY of the Bulls practicing (2003/2004 era). There is this small gym called Hoops not far from downtown Chicago, and I used to be part of a group that would play b-balll there once a week. The court next to us must have been rented by the Bulls as parts of the team were always over there practicing while we were playing.
I also saw Brian Urlacher on the Streets of Chicago.

When I was a kid, I met Donna Fargo after a concert outside Chicago. When I was managiing the toy store, I met many of the local News people. I helped architect Edwin Bacon (Kevin's Dad) on several occasions. I wrapped several presents for Patti LaBelle, but didn't recognize her at first. cause she didn't have any wild hair on. Standing out in front of the toy store on break one afternoon, I saw Eric Lindross and Rod Brind'Amour, then of the NHL's Flyers. Next to the bar where I work is one of the big theater houses in Philly and I've seen Kathleen Turner and Annie Lennox getting out of limos. Saw Donovan McNabb going into a hotel for a fundraiser. Saw Pat Summitt getting off a bus and going into a hotel when the lady's tourney was here. Sat right next to Ed Pastilong and two down from Woody O'Hara at last years's NIT semi-final at MSG. Tony and Jay were just a few feet away, and Valvano walked in front of me twice to go to the bathroom.

I am guesssing that none of you know who this is, but I got to hang out with Lord Tariq, he was supposed to do a show in Fairmont but the club owner backed out, so I got him into a club in Mo-Town and he did the show there. He was in my store (FYE) earlier that day and I talked to him then, later that night I met him at the club he was supposed to play and we hung out with his entourage for a while. I have also met Citizen Cope, Everlast (very cool dude), and MC Paul Barman.

Haven't met many musicians...Has anyone heard of Popa Chubby? (and no, I'm not making up his name). My old boss flew some of us out to his cabin in Beaver Creek, CO and Popa was playing a show there. We left his show early to hit up a local bar, and he came in to the bar after his show. Got to hang with him for a while. Really weird dude! His music wasn't that good either.

Wow, this thread has made me ralize how boring my life has been, LOL. Other than meeting Owen Schmitt last week, probably the only other one would be John Waite of The Babys and Bad English fame. He did an acoustical set a few years ago at a seafood festival when I was in Florida. Shook his hand and got him to autograph a CD. I did get some autographs from a few golfers on the Senior tour several years ago but not really household names unless you're into golf.
